1: Heavy Green (Vallejo Game Colour).
My favourite dark green paint (narrowly beating out old Citadel Dark Angels Green), Heavy Green is a VGC Extra Opaque paint: Which means it’s thick, not particularly smooth, has pretty middling flow, and has amazing coverage. Can cover black or grey in one coat. That’s it. That’s why it’s on here.
2: Waaagh Flesh (Citadel).
This might be my favourite green paint, period. I love the colour, it’s a midtone green (on the darker side) and is quite unique. I use it as my default all-purpose green, for fabric, natural foliage like grass/leaves/bush, and even darker greenskins. It has the usual Citadel features of great flow and smoothness (from the satin finish), and can cover black in one or two coats.
3: Flat Green (Vallejo Model Colour).
It’s your classic midtone grass green, which is notorious for having poor coverage. Not this one! Intermediate Green can cover black in two thin coats, grey in one. Like a lot of Vallejo paints, it’s not particularly smooth or good-flowing (not bad, just middling), but man the coverage can’t be beat.
4: Knarloc Green (Old Citadel).
This is basically identical to current Citadel Loren Forest. It’s just a great drab green colour. As it’s an old Foundation paint, it has middling flow and smoothness but can one coat black. Honestly I was considering putting Castellan Green/VMC Refractive Green on here instead but I find myself using this one more often, just cause it’s such a convenient colour.
5: Bog Moss (Formula P3).
My default green highlight tone. I prefer to highlight all my greens by adding this drab, yellowish green rather then a neon green like Moot Green, as I don’t like the almost fluorescent look most of the time.
