Getting Started with Starfinder

Plan to start your journey into the Vast in luxurious style with The Threefold Conspiracy in February.

I'm just getting started with Starfinder myself, and I have to admit to being completely obsessed with the game and universe so far. I am ramping up two different campaigns and I'm trying to get my hands on every book and resource I can to prepare myself. But I don't want to take this journey alone. I want you to come along with me. I know most of you who follow me on YouTube are Dungeons & Dragons players. And D&D is a vast and entertaining playground with enough material to keep someone happy for a lifetime, but sometimes it's good to get out of our comfort zone and try something new.

Over the next few months, I'm going to be producing some videos to help us get our Starfinder games off the ground and get our players excited to jump in. You'll see a video summarizing how starship combat works and what roles your player characters can take on the ship. I'll also be highlighting the many alien races that your players can choose from when creating their characters. All of this will hopefully be building up to us starting our campaigns together.

In February, the new Starfinder adventure path will begin. It's called The Threefold Conspiracy and it kicks off with Chapter 1: The Chimera Mystery, a whodunit aboard a luxury cruise liner that leads into a mind-bending, conspiracy unraveling mystery. This is an adventure path that will take your characters from levels 1 to 12, and it marks a great jumping on point for us new players. The release date for The Chimera Mystery is Feb. 26, 2020, so that gives us plenty of time to learn how to run a Starfinder campaign before we jump in.

So I invite you to come along on this journey with me. To get started, you just need the Starfinder Core Rulebook and some friends. Let me know what other kinds of videos and content we can create that would help you in your journey. If you want a taste of what a Starfinder campaign looks like, I highly recommend the podcast Androids & Aliens over at The Glass Cannon Network. I laughed myself silly today listening to episode 29 during my commute. And if you want a taste of what's to come, perhaps try the Starfinder Beginner Box. Our review below will give you a good overview of the universe and core races and classes:

Let me know about your Starfinder preparations! You can find me here, on Twitter, YouTube, or Facebook. See you in the vast!
