The next booster set of painted Pathfinder minis from Wizkids is landing in June 2020
Hello, friends! It's been a little while. The newswires we have dedicated to RPG minis and terrain has been fairly quiet for the past month. But Paizo and Wizkids have finally broken through with the announcement of their next standard booster set of prepainted minis for Pathfinder. This will be the second set supporting Pathfinder second edition, and like the first, it's not directly tied into a specific adventure path. Instead, this set will support the upcoming lore source book, Absalom: City of Lost Omens, which details the current status of the great city of Absalom since the death of the city's founder-god Aroden and the strange disappearance of the city's lord mayor. The city faces new threats, which will likely become manifest out of these random booster boxes!
From the little bit of news we received, this set will contain the standard array of 44 figures. It's unclear at this point if the set will top out at large or huge minis, but I would assume if it included huges, they would have mentioned it. No specific creatures were mentioned in the press release, and we didn't get any preview pictures.
The premium set for City of Lost Omens contains a red and black dragon, who "stand several inches tall and dwarf the other miniatures [in the set.]" The mini set is scheduled to drop in June 2020 and the Absalom: City of Lost Omens book and its accompanying map pack are scheduled for release on or around May 27, 2020.
We'll hopefully be receiving a preview brick for the set sometime before release, so stay tuned to our YouTube channel to check that out when it drops. We'll let you know when more news comes down the pike!
