The new Icons of the Realms set of pre-painted D&D minis releases on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The next set of D&D minis isn't supporting a specific campaign, but is providing miniatures for fans of the two extra bestiaries released for 5e, Volo's Guide to Monsters and Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. This standard Icons set will include 44 figures. Each random booster box includes one large mini and three medium to small minis. Some notable monsters in the set are the undead mind flayer alhoons, the large toad monstrosity known as a banderhobb, the dangerous orcus minion bodak, and a pair of new ogre minis.
On the hero side, this set seeks to expand our range of lesser known races including tortles, eldarin elves, and gith.
We did an unboxing of a brick of Volo's & Mordenkainen's Foes several weeks ago that you can see here.
The premium figure releasing alongside the side is the Elder Brain set, which includes a huge elder brain figure and 6 stalagmites to decorate its cavernous surroundings. You can see our review of the Elder Brain set below, along with a look at how well the stalagmites fit in with a Dwarven Forge set up.
Learn more about the set at its official Wizkids webpage. You should be able to pick it up at your friendly neighborhood game store or your friendly online retailer on Wednesday, December 4. The next set in the Icons of the Realms line has already been announced: Eberron: Rising from the Last War. It's scheduled for release in March 2020.
